The discovery was made at Randalstown Forest on Sunday morning.

A police spokesperson said: "A post mortem examination will take place to determine the cause of death. The body has not been formally identified at this stage.

"Subject to formal identification, police believe this may be missing person Elizabeth Greer."

Ms Greer, who is 46 years old, was last seen close to a Sainsburys store in the Larne Link Road area of Ballymena, Co Antrim, at 5.00pm on Wednesday.

Police and her family were growing increasingly concerned about her welfare.
