Police are investigating after a baby was admitted to hospital with a number of injuries.

The child was admitted for treatment on Wednesday and remains in a critical condition.

It is understood that forensic officers carried out examinations at a house in the Twinbrook area of Dunmurry on the outskirts of west Belfast on Thursday.

There are no further details at this stage.
