A man has been abducted and shot in west Belfast by a gang of four gunmen.
The incident took place at around 9.30pm on Thursday night when the victim was walking along Lenadoon Avenue.
A saloon type car with four men on board pulled up beside the man and one of the passengers pulled him inside.
He was then driven to an alleyway off Gibson Street, where he was removed from the car and shot in the leg.
The gunmen then fled the scene.
The victim is now being treated in hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
SDLP councillor for the local area Tim Attwood said the shootings have to stop before someone is killed.
"This simply has to stop before there is a death," Mr Attwood said.
"We cannot allow ourselves to become desensitised to these sorts of incidents as if they are something that just happen.
"They should never happen and, sadly, it could take a death before that message is truly brought home."
Detectives at Grosvenor Road have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
