Kevin O'Neill, 25, died following a knife attack at a house in the Stroanshesk Park area of the seaside town on 21 April, 2013.

Appearing in the dock of Antrim Crown Court on Friday, sitting in Belfast, was Nigel Thomas Martin McGothigan.

Formerly from Broombeg in Ballycastle but whose address was given as HMP Maghaberry, McGothigan, 29, pleaded 'not guilty' when the murder charge was put to him.

A defence barrister told Mr Justice Weir that the trial was expected to last between one and two weeks and a date was set for 9 June, at a venue to be arranged.
