A 23-year-old Irishman has died in hospital after being attacked in Australia.
Gearóid Walsh suffered serious head injuries when he was assaulted at a takeaway in Sydney last Sunday.
New South Wales Police have confirmed that he died on Thursday evening.
It is understood that the dead man's brother and sister live in Sydney and that his mother has flown to Australia.
