A man armed with a gun has attempted to rob a takeaway restaurant in west Belfast.

The incident happened on the Andersonstown Road at around 10.15pm on Tuesday.

A man armed with a silver-coloured gun threatened staff before making off empty-handed towards North Link.

The suspect is described as a 25-year-old man, 5ft 9inches, of thin build and wearing a blue fleece.

Anyone with information relating to this incident is asking to contact PSNI at Grosvenor Road.
