A silver-coloured car stopped beside the child in the Killyglen Link area of the town at around 3.20pm on Monday.

The driver, described as male, bald and in his 40s, told the child that they were supposed to be coming with him.

The child refused and immediately ran away. The car also quickly fled the scene, police said.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information regarding the identity of the owner or driver of the car to contact them at Larne on the non-emergency number 101.

Come on everything one is thinking it. Why was the child on his own in the first place? In this day and age you need to keep all children supervised at all times.
