Police detained the 68-year-old and 50-year-old following a search of a property in the Waterside area of the city on Tuesday evening.

Class B drugs were seized. The two men are helping with PSNI inquiries.

Another man in his 20s was also detained in the Waterside as the investigation into illegal drugs on the streets of Derry continues.

Inspector Declan McGrath said police are working to tackle those involved "at all levels".

He said: "We know that drugs are an issue of concern to people in Derry and this seizure further reinforces our determination to remove controlled drugs from the streets of the city.

"The PSNI have been working with the local community to tackle drug dealers head on and we will continue to work in conjunction with partner agencies to bring to justice those involved in illegal drugs at all levels.

"Illegal drugs are dangerous and can have a devastating impact on individuals, families and our communities. If you see or know anyone who is dealing drugs in your local area then contact your local police on 0845 600 8000 or the charity crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

This pictures illustrates perfectly how prohibition brings benign substances and chemicals together. End the prohibition of cannabis and the stigmatisation of those who choose to partake.
