Gary Convie, 24, and 44-year-old Eamon Fox were sitting in their car at a building site in North Queen Street on 17 May 1994 when a gunman opened fire with a submachine gun.

On Tuesday, three men aged 43, 52 and 65 were arrested in Templepatrick, Newtownabbey and Antrim.

They have been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning.

The arrests are part of the PSNI's Operation Stafford, which is investigating a series of murders and other serious crimes by the UVF in north Belfast.

One man has been previously convicted of the killings and in January a second man was charged with the murders and is currently on bail awaiting trial.

If you commit a crime then you should be prepared to do the time no matter how many years ago it happened. No-One should be exempt from proscecution no matter what religious background they come from.

I just can`t get my head around how people like yourself don`t seem to want to see murderers put behind bars!!The families of these two innocent men who were so brutally murdered for no other reason than the were catholics deserve justice, don`t you think ?
