Five people have been arrested by police investigating rogue traders and bogus callers across Northern Ireland.

Three men - two aged 21, and one aged 49 - and a 16-year-old boy were detained along with a woman, 23, on Monday in The Close, Holywood.

They were detained on suspicion of fraud and burglary offences and all five remain in police custody at this time assisting police with their enquiries.

Officers also carried out four follow up searches at addresses in the Newtownards and Greater Belfast areas, seizing a number of items for examination.

There are no further details.
