Arrests after women found in Down house

Two men have been arrested after police took three women from a house in Bangor, Co Down to a place of safety.

The pair, aged 25 and 38, were detained after police raided a house in the Holborn Court area of the town on Wednesday.They were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences linked to suspected people trafficking and prostitution.CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) CHAR(13) + CHAR(10)The officer leading the operation, Detective Inspector Harry Colgan, said: "Three women in their twenties, who we believe may have been trafficked into Northern Ireland, have been taken from the property to a place of safety and they will be interviewed in due course by specially trained officers and provided with all of the support they may require."The arrested men have been taken to a local police station for questioning.They remained in custody on Wednesday night.There are no further details at this time.
