Further charges in Strickland murder case

A man has been charged with murder following the death of Philip Strickland near Comber last week.

The 36-year-old victim was shot in the back of the head as he sat in a car off the Ballydrain Road in Co Down on Wednesday 11 January.

A 24-year-old man arrested on Wednesday 18 January, has been charged with murder.

A 42-year-old man arrested at the same time has been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Both men are expected to appear before Ards Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

The charges come after a father and his two sons appeared in court on Tuesday on charges of murder. They were remanded in custody to appear again in four weeks.
