Armed robbery at Derry newsagents

Two robbers have made off with a sum of cash after a shop worker was threatened with a wheel brace in Londonderry.

The incident occurred at a newsagents on Saturday at around 8.40pm in the Park Avenue area of the city.

The pair made off with the money in the direction of Upper Nassau Street.

No one was injured in the incident.

The first male is described as being approximately 5'11" tall, of slim build. He was wearing a light-grey hooded top and light grey tracksuit bottoms.

The second male is described as being approximately 5'7" tall, of medium build. He was wearing a dark grey hooded top.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact Strand Road Police Station.
