The bad weather has caused surface water on the roads and motorways and severe flooding in areas.
The Comber road into Dundonald at Ballystockart is severely flooded and Grahams Bridge road in Dundonald is closed due to a fallen telegraph pole.
Galdanagh road between Frosses road and Garryduff road is closed due to a fallen power cable and is likely to remain closed for the rest of the day. Motorists are advised to find an alternative route.
Portaferry Road south of Greyabbey towards Newtownards is partially blocked due to a fallen tree and the Magheraville Road in Armagh is blocked by a fallen tree.
A PSNI spokesperson has advised motorists to drive with care.
There are no weather warnings in place for Northern Ireland but heavy rain and gale force winds are forecast to affect parts of the UK on Monday.
The weather is set to improve later with sunny intervals to develop in the afternoon especially in the east towards Belfast and Bangor.
