The collision, which involved three vehicles, happened at about 7.30pm on Monday.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene and two patients were taken away, one to the Royal Victoria Hospital and one to the Children's Hospital.

Their conditions are not known at this stage.

Police closed part of the Westlink country-bound for a time between the Grosvenor Road and Broadway to "facilitate the safe removal of vehicles". The road has now been reopened.

I Came out of the RVH tonight after visiting my wife at around 19:55 and noticed the blue flashing lights of an ambulance sitting in the middle of the road there were also a lot of police standing about and as far as I could there were at least three cars involved.
