More than 150 full and part-time jobs are to be created in north Belfast in a £1.6m investment by a leading UK retailer.
TJ Hughes is set to create 16 full-time and 137 part-time jobs at Cityside Retail Park, Yorkgate, when Northern Ireland's first discount department store shop opens on 24 March.
North Belfast DUP MP Nigel Dodds MLA has welcomed the retailer's investment.
"This is very good news for the local area and the economy in general", Mr Dodds said.
"It will provide a much welcomed jobs boost and be a catalyst for even more shopper interest in the area."
TJ Hughes offers 'can't be beaten' prices on branded goods in a Department store environment.
"TJ Hughes is unique in the UK retail sector in that it offers. We are keen for the Northern Ireland shopper to see the store at first hand as it will be unlike any other discount store they are familiar with," Chief Executive Sue Tennant said.
TJ Hughes' first Department Store was established in 1912 in Liverpool.
It currently has 53 department stores across Great Britain.
