The collision happened at the junction of Beechmount Avenue and the Falls Road at around 10.15am on Friday.
Dozens of paramedics and firemen attended the scene.
"The scene was clear of patients within an hour and the major Incident was stood down," the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said.
Police said that a white van collided with a number of vehicles.
It is understood that at least two of the cars involved were taxis.
A number of people had to be cut free from wreckage.
Seven people were taken to the nearby Royal Victoria Hospital, while three were taken to the Mater Hospital in the north of the city.
Their injuries aren't thought to be life-thratening.
SDLP Councillor Colin Keenan said: "This must have been a frightening experience for the people involved.
"I wish all those involved a speedy recovery.
"I want to commend emergency services for their swift and professional response to this incident."
An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
