Cannabis herb and resin worth an estimated €700,000 was found by gardaí during a house raid in Tallaght, south Dublin.

The search took place at Hazel Grove Court on Saturday evening.

It was part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Tallaght area.

A spokesperson for the gardaí said that no arrests had been made.

Meanwhile, in Co Louth, £600,000 of herbal cannabis and plants was uncovered following a house search in Drogheda on Saturday morning.

Gardaí from the Dublin Traffic Corps stopped and searched a vehicle in the Blanchardstown area of Dublin on Friday night.

This led to the search of a house in Drogheda which was being used as part of a cannabis cultivation operation.

Two men, aged 25 and 35, arrested in Blanchardstown remain in police custody.

They are due to appear before court on Monday.
