The 55-year-old was stopped and searched on Thursday morning, just before he boarded a Vienna bound flight.

€99,990 was seized by officers from the Irish Revenue's Customs Service.

On Thursday afternoon, a judge granted officers a three month detention order in relation to the sum of money to enable further investigations to be carried out.

The discovery resulted in the sixth cash seizure made under the Proceeds of Crime Act by revenue officers at the airport over the last 10 days.

The other five seizures totalled €92,870 and in all five cases detention orders were granted by the courts.
