THE PEOPLE'S MILLIONS 2011 - VOTING INTERACTION INFORMATION

1. Voting method:
Viewers located anywhere in the United Kingdom or the Isle of Man can vote for the project, as featured in the regional news programme, which they think the Big Lottery Fund should award a single grant of up to a maximum of £60,000 (the "grant").

During the time when the voting lines are open, viewers will be asked during the regional news programme in the UTV region to vote for which one of two (2) regional projects, as featured in the regional news programme, should be offered the grant.

Viewers can vote by phone only by dialling the relevant voting phone number as specified in the regional news programme or other media and listen to a short message. Text Relay (formerly known as TypeTalk) users should dial 18001 before the relevant project's allocated voting phone number in order to use the facility of a Text Relay operator.

Please note it is not possible to vote via SMS, the internet, red button or via email.

2. Opening/closing dates and times:
Beginning Monday 27 June 2011 until Wednesday 29 June 2011, voting opens each day at 9am and closes at midnight.

3. Cost of voting:
Each phone vote costs no more than 11p from a BT landline. Calls from other networks may be higher and from mobiles will be considerably more. Viewers are advised to check with their telephone network provider to be certain of the call cost. No profits are made by the Promoter or the Big Lottery Fund from the cost of voting.

The Promoter will donate any profit generated by the cost of voting by phone to the charitable organisation, The Prince's Trust.

4. Voting restrictions:
During the daily voting times and on the dates stated above you may vote from your phone number up to a maximum of 10 (ten) times each day for each project in one region. If you are voting for projects in more than one region, please note that the capping mechanism allows up to 10 votes in aggregate for projects listed first in the regional news programmes or other media (e.g. project A) across all regions, and up to 10 votes in aggregate for projects listed second in the programmes or other media (e.g. project B). For example if you vote 5 times for project A in one region, you can only vote 5 more times from the same phone number for project A in that region or the projects As in other regions. Any votes made above the maximum number of times as specified are invalid and will not be counted but may still be charged. The Promoter, the Big Lottery Fund, and the producers of the regional news programme reserve the right to discount votes made above the maximum number.

The Big Lottery Fund reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any project for reasons including but not limited to, where in the Big Lottery Fund's reasonable opinion it seems likely that the relevant project has been the subject of voting, fraudulent or otherwise, which has had the effect of excessively manipulating or tampering with the outcome of the vote.

For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these guidelines is intended to prevent a nominated regional project from soliciting votes in any media.

Viewers under the age of 18 must have parental permission before participating in the vote.

5. Voting results:
The project that receives the most votes in each region on each day will be the winner for that region and may be offered the grant by the Big Lottery Fund. Under legislation the Board of the Big Lottery Fund has final approval over the award of the grant to the project which has received the most public support. The name of the winning project in each region will be announced as specified during the relevant regional news programme.

The winning project from the previous day in each of the relevant regions will be announced on the relevant regional news programme at 18.00 each day beginning on Tuesday 28 June 2011 until Thursday 30 June 2011.

On Thursday 30 June 2011, the Big Lottery Fund will, subject to Big Lottery Fund approval, offer a further grant of up to £60,000 to each regional project which received the most votes from all of the remaining runners-up projects in that region.

In the event of a tie, where, at the time when the result is calculated, more than one project in a region has received joint highest scores, each of those projects will be offered a grant up to £60,000 each, subject to Big Lottery Fund approval.

In the event that the outcome of a vote cannot be reasonably determined because of, but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, error, technical failure or other circumstance beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter or the Big Lottery Fund, and which would corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the vote, then all or part of the vote may be cancelled, declared invalid or postponed and the Big Lottery Fund's decision will be final as to which project (if any) to offer the grant. In reaching its decision, the Big Lottery Fund will assess the circumstances with all the information that is available to it, which project had the most public support and/or may at their sole discretion choose to award one project, both projects or neither project the grant.
