Meath player Robbie O'Malley is a member of St Peter's Male Voice Choir which has released a Christmas album.
So This Is Christmas features a mix of traditional carols and popular songs, produced Brian Masterson who has worked with U2, Rolling Stones and The Chieftains.
O'Malley, who has been honoured three times as a GAA All-Star, said the album was uplifting.
"In the times we are in that are recessionary, we people are in need of a lift and we hope they will find it uplifting," he said.
The GAA star was a member of Meath's All-Ireland winning side in 1987 and 1988.
Six years ago he joined the choir of St Peter's in Drogheda, Co Louth, and his distinctive voice soon brought him to the fore as solo vocalist.
O'Malley has appeared as guest soloist in concerts in New York, The National Concert Hall and The Helix.
The choir's CD is based on its long-running festive concert series which began in 2001 and has been broadcast on radio on Christmas Day for the last two years.
