Over one million students from over 56,000 schools logged on at home or in school to compete against students around the world in live games of mental arithmetic.
The north Belfast pupils answered almost a quarter of a million questions correctly to get the title.
"It was up and down for the first two days. We dropped over night once the Americans came online while we were asleep but on the last day we got a good lead and they weren't able to claw it back", teacher Damian Eannetta told UTV.
"As soon as I got home from school I started playing and I got 9,000 points. I wish there was more competitions like this up for grabs", one eight-year-old told UTV.
Some children were prepared to work all hours to get the title.
"I stayed up until about 9.30pm then my mother and father dragged me to bed", another pupil said.
The unique world event aims at promoting numeracy in schools.
"It was nail biting up to the finish at 11pm last night. I couldn't be prouder", Damian Eannetta said.
"Everyone in the class put 100% effort into it and it was an all round fantastic experience."
