X Factor finalists grab top spot

The X Factor finalists have gone straight to number one with their cover version of Michael Jackson's You Are Not Alone.

The 12 acts combined on the song to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

It has already sold more than 193,000 copies, making it the second highest selling single of the year so far.

X Factor judge Simon Cowell said: "I'm absolutely delighted for Great Ormond Street Hospital that the X Factor single has been able to help. It's an incredibly deserving national cause and the work they do to give hope and happiness to so many brave children and families is absolutely invaluable and an inspiration. It's a complete honour to be involved."

Black Eyed Peas are at number two with Meet Me Halfway and American singer-songwriter Jason Derulo is straight in at number three with his debut, Whatcha Say.

There was also success in the album charts for the 2006 X Factor winner, Leona Lewis, who took top spot with her new record Echo.

There was also a new entry at number three for Queen's greatest hits package Absolute Greatest.
