Wilton lands honorary doctorate

British actress Penelope Wilton landed an honorary degree in her native Scarborough, England on Friday for her contribution to the arts.
The Downton Abbey star found fame in the 1970s and has featured in more than 40 TV shows during her career, as well as films including Calendar Girls and Shaun of the Dead.
She was the guest of honour at a graduation ceremony from the Scarborough Campus of the University of Hull on Friday, when officials handed her a Doctor of Letters.
Wilton said: "I am absolutely delighted. It is a great honour."
