Emmerdale producer Kate Oates reveals what's in store this summer. (© ITV)
Ahead of another Summer of Soap, Kate has taken the time to reveal what's in store in the Dales, and, as is expected, it's going to be explosive.
She said: "We have wedding fever on Emmerdale this summer, we have Kerry and Dan's, Priya and Rakesh's arranged marriage, which is a whole new angle for Emmerdale to take, and we also have Laurel and Marlon's wedding.
"Laurel has been really looking forward to marrying Marlon, she's been through so much to be with him. Donna's arrival has kind of thrown things a bit of a curve ball and it really might not work out the way Laurel was hoping.
"So as Donna and Marlon's story unfolds, that's going to have a massive impact on the Marlon and Laurel wedding, and I guess that might be the wedding that has the biggest question mark hanging over it - so you'll just have to see what happens."
With so much going on in Emmerdale, there is definitely a lot to enjoy, but Kate admitted there's one storyline she is really looking forward to.
"I'm really looking forward to the Marlon, Donna and Ross storyline. Really soon Marlon is going to find out the truth about why Donna brought April into his life, that's she's really sick and that she's only got a few months to live.
"That's really going to knock him for six, but the person she is not going to tell is Ross. He's the guy that she is falling in love with and the person that she's basically leading a bit of a double life with.
"When she's with Ross she can pretend that she's fine, she can cling on to the hope that she can enjoy some good few, exciting months.
"And of course she is involved in this double life were she and he are working together to try and get money for April before she dies.
"I'm really looking forward to that story - it might be the story that brings Aaron back, it might be the reason why Adam needs to make a special call to his mate in France..."
With love and heartache on the horizon, it's easy to forget that the scheming Charity and Declan have been getting away scot-free for burning down Home Farm and running Rachel out of the village. But Kate reassures viewers it will all soon catch up with the pair.
"One of the questions I get asked most at the moment is when are Declan and Charity going to get their comeuppance, because they were so horrible at Christmas and so awful to Sam and Rachel.
"I think there's a real big part of the audience that really, really wants to see them get their comeuppance. Well...Megan doesn't like Charity, we know that Megan thinks she is responsible for Charity's miscarriage, she wasn't, Megan might be on the track of finding that out and when she does, she's going to be mad!
"She's really going to work hard to try and bring Charity down, the question is - is Declan going to listen to his wife or his sister?"
Emmerdale airs on UTV weekdays from 7pm.
