Web cover inspired X Factor's James

The stripped back, slowed down version of the catchy dance track blew the judges away during Saturday's live 'Club Classics' show and won James some serious praise.

"Amazing, amazing, amazing," Gary Barlow told the X Factor hopeful.

"This wasn't the performance of the night - it was the performance of the series so far."

On Tuesday, guitar-toting James tweeted 18-year-old Noah from South Carolina to thank him for the inspiration provided by the video he posted on YouTube five months ago.

Noah, who is known online as only1noah, has racked up an impressive 3.5m views on his version.

He regularly posts his offerings - including covers of everything from Valerie by the Zutons, to Gnarls Barkley's Crazy and Someone Like you by Adele - and gets hundreds of thousands of hits.

Noah tweeted the X Factor star back to thank him for his message and told him: "Gr8 job!"
