Vinnie Jones is said to have been offered $1m to join his former football rival Paul Gascoigne in the Celebrity Big Brother house.
The Sun reported that footballer-turned-movie star Jones, 44, who was famously photographed grabbing Gazza's groin during a match in 1988, has been approached with a £620,000 deal.
Gascoigne, 42, who has battled alcoholism and depression in the past, is also among those speculated to be poised to join the Channel 4 reality programme.
Celebrity Big Brother has not confirmed the names of contestants in the show, which kicks off on Sunday.
A spokeswoman for Celebrity Big Brother said that, as usual, potential housemates' names were not being confirmed or denied.
The Sun quoted a friend of Jones saying: "He was planning to take January off - but one million dollars for three weeks' work was difficult to turn down."
