Ali with her TWO favourite co-presenters! (© UTV)
Having earlier tweeted that she hoped anchorman Paul Clark wouldn't start her weeping, Ali made it through one last UTV Live - despite a surprise tribute to her time with the company.
"Some of the best bits - and, of course, some of the bits that didn't make the news," Paul said, to a slightly shocked look from his co-presenter.
"It's been an honour and a privilege to be in your living rooms every night," Ali then told viewers.
Colleagues from throughout the newsroom will be sorry to see her go, but a new challenge awaits as she prepares to join the world of PR.
I'll miss you the most - just don't tell Marc Mallett!
Alison Fleming, to Paul Clark
"Alison's professionalism, creativity and drive will be sorely missed by all at UTV," UTV Managing Director Michael Wilson said.
"But those same skills will make her a valuable addition to her new team."
Ali will be joining public relations company LK Communications.
"We're really thrilled to be welcoming one of Northern Ireland's most accomplished and experienced broadcasters to the team," Managing Director Nikki Larkin said.
In a blog written when her new venture was first announced, Ali said: "I'll never forget the people I've met over the years, and I hope you'll all remember me - and say hello when you see me out shopping, and tell me how much skinnier I am in real life, and ask me what Paul Clark's really like!!"
Good luck, Ali!
