The figures, which cover the six month period from March to September 2011, were released by RAJAR on Thursday and show listening hours have increased by 74% from last year.
Peter McVerry, U105 Station Manager, said: "Yet again U105 has recorded a fantastic set of results.
"This time last year we had 133,000 listeners and over the past 12 months, thanks to the hard work of everyone here, we have grown that to 223,000 people tuning in to 105.8FM every week.
"We have also registered a new record for total listening hours which are now a massive 2.3 million hours."
U105's line-up includes popular presenters Maurice Jay, Frank Mitchell, Carolyn Stewart, Johnny Hero and Jerry Lang.
"These great figures are recognition of the talent of everyone here at U105, both on and off-air. It's also evidence of our strong connection with our audience. Nothing demonstrates this better than our recent U105 Town Tour when Maurice Jay took to the road to raise more than £94,000 for our friends at the Northern Ireland Hospice.
"We have big plans to continue this growth including some superb giveaways across November and December to help our listeners with the cost of Christmas," added Peter McVerry.
U105 broadcasts to the Greater Belfast area - including Lisburn, Antrim, Bangor, Dungannon, Banbridge and Carrickfergus.
