This is an increase from 1.77m in the previous quarter, with the station's average hours also up from 9.1 to 9.4 per week in the U105 broadcast area.
U105 is now ahead of other local commercial stations including Cool FM at 8.2, Citybeat at 7.5 and Downtown at 6.2.
Figures also show U105's market share has increased to an impressive 11.8%.
Peter McVerry, U105 Station Manager said: "We are delighted that the latest RAJAR figures just released show listeners are tuning into U105 for longer.
"In such a highly competitive market this shows listeners are clearly enjoying our mix of great music, quality talk and up-to-the-minute extensive news. These results provide fantastic feedback from our 195,000 listeners who tune in each week.
"Our presenter line-up was already second to none with talented and experienced broadcasters including Maurice Jay, Frank Mitchell, Carolyn Stewart, Johnny Hero, Jerry Lang and John Daly, but last month it got even better when Glen Pavis took over nighttime with U105 late from 10pm to 1am and Glen is already proving a real hit with our listeners.
"The station has just finished the U105 Town Tour, raising a record £130,000 for NI Hospice. We're very excited about the rest of the year as we have some fantastic promotions planned."
