British singer Tulisa Contostavlos once used her fame as a source of identification to buy alcohol - by presenting a shopkeeper with a magazine featuring her on the cover.
The N-Dubz star had forgotten her formal ID during a shopping trip and was banned from buying wine, until she proved who she was to the man behind the counter.
She tells The Sun: "I didn't have my ID so he wouldn't give it to me. There were all these mags with me on the front cover so I pulled out one, slapped it on the desk and said: 'Look, there's my ID. Can I have the wine?' He gave it to me."
