We get lots of lovely suggestions we just haven't got room in the programme to cover. So here is our tribute to a few more folk our viewers want to say thank you to.
John, a retired bus driver, has been nominated by lots of people from Newry. Every Christmas, John performs a sit out on Hill Street in the city. John is raising funds in aid of his local Southern Area hospice. John is considered an institution in the town, as he can be found rain or shine, even in the snow, collecting donations from passersby. He is an inspiration to the people of Newry and to us at The Magazine.
John has been nominated by Claire Keenan for our People Like You Award. John is a man who battles through serious health conditions to raise money for his local Alzheimer's Society.
John is a leading member of the society and organises collections raising thousands of pounds for the Lisburn and Down area. This money goes to fund research, carers and outreach workers, providing much needed support for the sufferers of the disease and the families involved.
Lisa has been nominated by a very grateful Frances Barrett. Lisa is a hairdresser at the heart of the community, and with the community in her heart.
She has been visiting her clients in hospital and at home, after they have fallen ill and become too sick to visit her salon. She raises spirits and some smiles with her visits and beauty tips.
Lisa has also been helping raise money for the local primary school and is considered a prized member of her local cross community playgroup. Lisa is totally unaware of her qualities but is valued enormously by the people around her.
Iris is a lollipop lady from Co Armagh who goes the extra mile for her children. Iris has been nominated by Louise Robinson whose kids Iris not only ensures they get to school safely every day, but often delivers her children directly to their home.
She has even been known to deliver the odd forgotten book and P.E kit. Iris is also very active in her local community arranging various different activities and events.
Caroline is a very special lady who has been a rock to her sister in a time of need. When Caroline's sister, Bridget, was diagnosed with breast cancer whilst she was seven weeks pregnant, Caroline stepped in and helped Bridget through her Chemotherapy sessions, as well as her pregnancy.
Even still Caroline provides support to her sister who is now three years cancer free and with a healthy 31 month old son, Michael. Caroline is a very special sister indeed and Bridget is thanking her for her support with her nomination for a People Like You award.
Do you know of someone who deserves special recognition? Nominating is easy. Just fill our People Like You form.
