Bruce Springsteen took a swipe at London festival bosses who pulled the plug on his duet with Sir Paul McCartney over the weekend by continuing the performance at a separate show in Dublin.

The Boss slams UK gig curfew in Dublin

The Boss took to the stage at the Hard Rock Calling event in Hyde Park on Saturday night and at the end of his three-hour show, he brought out the Beatles legend for an encore.

But after the concert over-ran strict curfew rules, festival bosses turned off their microphones, much to the anger of thousands of fans.

Springsteen got his own back at the beginning of his concert at Dublin's RDS Arena on Tuesday by switching a huge fake generator back to 'on', and launching into the final minute of Twist And Shout, the track he failed to finish with McCartney.

He then held up a placard with the message: "Only the Boss says when to pull the plug", and made a further jibe during the show's finale when a man dressed as a London police officer pretended to arrest him.
