Vernon Kay has apologised for his flirtatious behaviour
Tess Daly has revealed she is "working through it" with fellow TV presenter husband Vernon Kay after he admitted sending explicit messages to a string of women.

Speaking publicly for the first time about the revelations that surfaced last month, the Strictly Come Dancing host said it had been "tough" but she expected to be "married for life".

Former model Kay admitting sending explicit texts to around five women, going on to apologise to hundreds of thousands of listeners on his Radio 1 show.

Daly, 40, told The Daily Mirror: "The past few weeks have been tough, but we're working through it.I've been really touched by the support from the public and it feels great being back at work."

Earlier this week the celebrity couple, who have two young children, made their first official appearance together at a Prince's Trust award ceremony.

They shared a podium to help mark the achievements of young people who have turned their lives around.

Daly, who married Kay in 2003, told the paper: "Away from the cameras we have a pretty normal lifestyle. Our parents were married for life so that's the attitude I have gone into marriage with. That's what I expect."

Her husband, 35, interrupted his weekly radio show last month to tell his two million listeners he had been "foolish and stupid".

Without referring directly to the texts, the All Star Family Fortunes presenter added that he had "disappointed and let down a lot of people", saying: "To my family and everybody else, I am very sorry."
