The stars of The Only Way Is Essex are preparing for a return to screens for an eighth series, popping in for a chat with This Morning's Phillip and Holly about what to expect - and how they deal with living life in the limelight.

As the UK's answer to The Hills and Jersey Shore, reality show TOWIE has been going strong since 2010 and has even picked up a BAFTA award along the way.

Amid last season's romantic entanglements, tears and tantrums, Kirk Norcross made a return, Bobby bagged himself an 'affelete', and Gemma Collins was - shock, horror - barred from the Sugar Hut.

"I'm still banned," Gemma lamented on Thursday, to laughter from her co-stars.

But, since Kirk's dad Mick owns the nightclub that features in the series, he took it upon himself to declare her officially allowed to return.

"There - you are now, live on This Morning, unbanned!" Phillip announced, prompting cheers.

Meanwhile, the TOWIE crew admitted that returning to filming was like going back to school for them, with lots to catch up on.

TOWIE life moves a lot quicker than real life ...

And just as if he was ready for his first day at school, Joey Essex has a new hairdo - and a whole new word to describe it.

"I'm calling it the 'fusey' haircut. It's sort of like the street version of reem, like reem's glam and fusey's street," he said.

Well, quite.

Even heading into their eighth season though, the TOWIE stars confessed that they're still adjusting to life in front of the cameras. Especially when it comes to relationships ...

"It's much more pressure," Joey said, before on and off-screen girlfriend Sam Faiers chipped in.

"You have one little argument - like you would day-to-day - and then, on the show, it's so blown up. Which is great obviously for the TV, but then really it's like ... it's only a little argument."

With the others nodding in agreement, Jess Wright added: "People at home think it's suddenly, oh, you should be married next series. But actually, it's just a real relationship.

"It's very real. It's not scripted - we say what we want to say. But in terms of a relationship, it's a little bit more pressure."

Season eight of TOWIE kicks off on Sunday 24 February, at 10pm on ITV2.
