The Superman Returns star and his actress wife Courtney Ford became proud parents to Leo James, who weighed in at eight pounds on Friday.
In a statement to People.com, the couple gushes: "We're in awe... we can't take our eyes off him!"
Ford also took to her Twitter page after the news was announced and told her followers: "Thx (thanks) to everyone for the kind wishes."
Routh and Ford married in 2007.
