She stunned the crowds at the O2 Arena in London with an elegant performance in a full-length glittering dress.
The event on Wednesday night was hosted by comedian and actor James Corden.
Also representing America was singer Katy Perry, who was carried on stage in a luminescent chariot for in a futuristic Egyptian-themed routine to her single Dark Horse.
The event also saw New Zealand singer Lorde collaborating with Disclosure on stage for the first time in a rendition of Royals. The 17-year-old went on to pick up the International Female Solo Artist award.
Bastille was named British Breakthrough Act, while Bruno Mars was crowned International Male Solo artist.
Prince presented the British Female Solo Artist of the year to Ellie Goulding who later performed her single I Need Your Love.
Following an absence of 10 years, David Bowie's comeback album earned him the British Male Solo Artist award, 30 years after his first Brit Award.
After Noel Gallagher announced the winner, supermodel Kate Moss picked up the award on his behalf, sporting a Ziggy Stardust one-piece.
The Best Video, which was voted for by Twitter users, went to One Direction for Best Song Ever.
Artic Monkeys, who opened the show, picked up Best British Band and Best British Album.
While Rudimental won best single for Waiting All Night with Ella Eyre. They were joined onstage with Bastille for a special performance of the song.
The night ended with a musical medley from Pharrell Williams and legendary musician Nile Rodgers.
