After initially stumbling over her lines, Tamera, from Kent, delivered a dramatic rendition of the song to become an instant show favourite and earn her place in the bootcamp stage of the competition.
She dashed off stage to her family after going blank and got help from host Dermot O'Leary before going back on and wowing the crowd.
"What we're seeing right now is potential beyond belief. That was captivating and mesmerising," judge Gary Barlow told her.
"You take me breath away," Sharon Osbourne told the teenager. "So many people want to be Whitney but her songs are so huge ... You were amazing.
"I'll never forget that audition."
If you forget your lyrics in Boot Camp I will smack you. With a big stick.
Nicole Scherzinger said she believes the young singer is already "the one to beat", while Louis Walsh said she had the potential to be better than former winners Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke.
"I've been doing this for 10 years and I don't think I've ever seen anybody with the potential that you have. That includes Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke," Louis told her.
"If you get your act together you're the best. You are incredible. This could be the first day of an amazing career for you. Don't mess it up."
Nicole added: "You're still young; you have a lot to work on because some of it is a little out of control... You have a gift and a talent. You're a star."
Tamera originally auditioned in the judge room as part of duo Silver Rock alongside Jerrie Bafundila.
The judges split the group because they felt there was no chemistry between the singers and Jerrie later failed to make it through to bootcamp.
Meanwhile, Sam Bailey and Hannah Barrett both continued to impress the judges when they took to the Wembley stage. Sam delivered a powerhouse performance of the Motown classic Who's Loving You, while Hannah sang One Night Only by Jennifer Hudson.
Louis told Sam: "It was powerful and yet it's effortless; you deserve a recording contract." And Nicole branded Hannah her "little Nina Simone".
Elsewhere, Alejandro Fernandez-Holt got Nicole and Sharon on their feet when he sang Hero by Enrique Iglesias, earning his ticket to bootcamp - with the panel praising his charisma.
"That was so surreal," blushed Alejandro. "I got a standing ovation - and those cheers! It completely exceeded everything I thought would happen," he added.
It was the end of the journey for aspiring rocker Fil Henley who failed to impress with his self-penned track, That's Metal (To My Ears).
"It's a yes for the hair but a no for the show," Nicole told him.
"Wembley was definitely my craziest performance," revealed Fil after the show.
"The Judges had asked me to come back and do something crazy - and I thought I'd give them exactly what they asked for.
"At the arena, it was 90% me jumping around and the music got chucked out the window."
"I knew before I got on that stage, if I was going out, I was going out with a bang. And I think I did that."
