The Spanish star plays cyber-terrorist Raoul Silva in the latest installment of the 007 franchise, but unlike his modern character, Bardem admits he has yet to fully embrace gadgetry.
He tells Lorraine: "Actually, one of the (central) things of my character is computers and they had to explain to me a lot about it because for me just to write an email is like I'm doing rocket science or something like that.
"No, I'm so not into that. Which I don't think is good - I think life goes very fast so you have to really get on with it.
"I do (write letters), not as much as I used to, but I do, yeah. I think it's one of the things that you miss the most, no? Handwriting things (to) people, especially on special occasions."
