The prison warden said she is more nervous than ever about the huge event at Wembley Arena and still hasn't taken in the fact she could become the next winner of the X Factor by the end of the weekend.
She said: "I've not accepted I'm in the final! It's amazing but I can't believe it. So, I just need to go out there and live it - I have no idea how I will do it.
"But this is the opportunity of a lifetime and you don't know when it will be over, I want to enjoy the weekend."
Having travelled to Leicester for her homecoming earlier this week, the rehearsals for this weekend's performances are underway and emotions are starting to show.
"I'm going to put all my nervous energy into the song, into rehearsals," Sam explained. "I'm going to try and channel it. I will probably cry but I will put that into the performance too. I'll try and savour every emotion."
Sam will perform with X Factor Judge Nicole Scherzinger during Saturday's show when both women will take to the stage to sing Jennifer Hudson's huge ballad And I'm Telling You.
"My duet with Nicole is very different - I've never shown my voice off in this way before," Sam revealed. "It's going to be a big jump for me. There will be absolutely no stripping back.
"Nicole is amazing and I am looking forward to the song. No one has seen the Gospel-side to my voice before but they're about to!"
The X Factor final airs on UTV on Saturday from 8pm and Sunday from 7.30pm.
