Roache stands accused of two counts of raping a 15-year-old girl in East Lancashire in 1967.
He is further charged with five indecent assaults, allegedly carried out in Manchester between 1965 and 1968 against four girls aged between 11 and 16.
The veteran soap star, who has played Ken Barlow since the show's launch, pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him at Preston Crown Court on Monday.
In the dock, Roache answered "not guilty" to each of the seven charges.
He was released on continuing bail, with his trial now set to begin on 14 January.
No comment was made to the waiting media outside court.
Roache will not be appearing on screen in Coronation Street until the legal proceedings have ended.
