Daniel Radcliffe rang in the New Year with a new theatre record in New York.

The Harry Potter star ended his run in hit musical How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying by breaking the box office record at the Hirschfeld Theatre during his final week.

The young star ended his 345-show run on Sunday by addressing a sold out house and paying tribute to the show's cast and crew with a touching tribute.

He said: "I leave this show tonight terrified by the fact I may never find another like it."

Radcliffe also honoured his co-star, John Larroquette, who also leaves the production, by stating: "You are like a funny, angry version of Buddha and I'm very fortunate to call you a friend."

The two stars will be replaced by Darren Criss and Beau Bridges this week.
