Film Club launches with a screening of Frank and Robot. (© Samuel Goldwyn Films)
The monthly event will be hosted by UTV's resident film critic, Brian Henry Martin who will lead the post film discussion on the night and online.
The initiative launches on Tuesday 19 March at 6.30pm with a screening of new release Robot & Frank, starring Susan Sarandon and Frank Langella and will continue to screen films exclusive to QFT each month.
Directed by Jake Schreier, Robot & Frank is set in the near future and tells the story of an ex-jewel thief who receives a gift from his son; a robot butler programmed to look after him. What follows is a hilarious and often heart-breaking tale of friendship and family as the two companions try their luck as a heist team.
Brian says he is looking forward to the first Film Club event "in the friendly atmosphere of QFT".
The film critic and blogger says he will "enjoy being part of a film community both virtually and in person."
This is a great opportunity for cinema lovers to see something a bit different.

Susan Picken, Head of QFT is excited about this new partnership: "UTV and QFT entertain and enrich the everyday lives of local audiences and Film Club is a great extension to this for both parties.
"We hope that Film Club will spark an interest in film above and beyond the mainstream and encourage audiences to try something new and, by doing so, have a bit of fun with film," she added.
Morgane Campioni, Executive Producer, UTV's Online Channels, commented: "We are excited about offering our users the chance to get more involved in film through the Film Club and creating an online film community on UTV's website that can not only enjoy monthly screenings at the QFT but also get vocal on u.tv with Brian."
