Kent Police have said the results of toxicology analysis could take several weeks.

In a statement, they added: "Officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death in order to compile a report for the coroner."

A decision on whether to hold an inquest into Geldof's death will be made depending on the final results of the post mortem.

The mother-of-two was found dead at her home near Wrotham, Kent on Monday after police officers were called "following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman".

Her death is not being considered as suspicious but "unexplained".

She had two sons, Astala, who will turn two later this month, and 11-month-old Phaedra, with her second husband, musician Thomas Cohen.

Following the news of his daughter's death, Irish singer Bob Geldof said he and his family were "beyond pain".

In a family statement on behalf of sisters Fifi Trixibelle and Pixie and younger half-sister Tiger, Sir Bob said: "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child."

Peaches Geldof's mother Paula Yates died in 2000 following a drug overdose.
