The television chef was barred from boarding a flight from London to Los Angeles at the weekend.

An eyewitness has told the Daily Mail newspaper she attempted to board a British Airways flight on Sunday Morning.

The onlookers says she was turned away, adding: "She didn't seem to say much but she did not look happy.

"She could not get on the flight so she had to turn around and leave."

At the trial of her and ex-husband Charles Saatchi's personal assistants in December, the 54-year-old admitted taking cocaine and cannabis in the past, but said she was not a habitual user.

Lawson told jurors that she took cocaine with her late husband John Diamond when he found out he had terminal cancer and in 2010 when she claimed she was being ''subjected to intimate terrorism" by Saatchi.

She also accused her ex-husband of trying to "destroy" her with claims that she was an addict.

Police reviewed the allegations of drug use made during the trial but Scotland Yard said no further action would be taken.

So while Lawson has not been convicted for any drug offence, it appears that US officials have still decided to deny her entrance to the country.

A spokeswoman for the US Embassy said: "There are several ways of legally travelling into the United States and Ms Lawson has been invited to come to the Embassy and apply for a visa for travel to the US.

"We understand she has professional requirements for US travel and these matters are generally handled routinely and expeditiously, so stand by."

Actually this is what you get when you are a celebrity who gets cuaght taking drugs and the trial is covered by the media. I bet nearly every flight has 1 drug user, or former user, on it! Guess she was unlucky hers wasn't a nice taxable drug like booze or cigarettes.
