Daniel Craig, fresh from his Olympic appearance alongside none other than Her Majesty the Queen, is set to return to the big screen for a third outing as the smooth 007.
Skyfall is the 23rd Bond film and will see MI6 come under attack as M's past comes back to haunt her.
With Bond's loyalty tested, it still falls to him to track down and eliminate the threat - no matter how personal the cost.
The latest trailer, the second to be released, opens with M writing an obituary for Commander James Bond. "What do you say about a man like that?" she muses.
But it soon becomes clear that all is not as it seems, though Bond does later answer her demand to know where he has been with the retort: "Enjoying death."
Dame Judi Dench reprises her role as M, while the new film will also star Javier Bardem as the requisite bad guy and Ben Whishaw as Q.
Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe are set to play the latest in a long line of Bond girls, as Eve and Sévérine respectively.
Skyfall is due to hit UK cinema screens on 26 October.
