Geri Halliwell addressed thousands of wannabes through a loud hailer, as she appeared outside the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Wednesday.
The former Spice Girl has been drafted in as a guest judge, but is also considered one of the frontrunners to land a seat on the panel full-time.
Former bandmate Mel B is also going to be a guest judge though, as X factor bosses continue the hunt for a replacement for Kelly Rowland.
Tulisa Contostavlos, Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh are all making returns to the show and were also in Liverpool to face the first wave of hopefuls for the new series.
And there must have been some talent on display in the city, with Gary simply tweeting: "Going great in Liverpool."
Dannii Minogue had been considering a possible return to the judging panel, but talks fell through last week.
The X Factor will be back on UTV later this summer.
