Nancy expected 'more style' from Sven

Nancy Dell'Olio has spoken out about her former partner Sven Göran-Eriksson's memoir, telling This Morning she thought he would have had "more style" than to talk about their relationship.

Sven: My Story was published last week and in the memoir the former England football manager claimed Nancy "demanded constant attention" which caused him to get "more and more irritated with her".

Reacting to this, Nancy told Phillip and Holly: "Of course I am demanding and of course if the light is not right I say it, or the champagne is not cold enough, but is anybody surprised by this?"

"It's not usually what Sven's style is. I know he's going through some financial troubles but I was expecting something with more style and more elegance.

"Why would you go out and write a horrible book like this? Is he proud to talk about all the affairs he had?

"I don't recognise him now."

Nancy took particular offence to Sven suggesting that she would never consider dating or marrying a man who was "just a plumber".

"He was just a football manager," she said.

Nancy and Sven were together for 10 years and she said it was the publication of her own book which led to them splitting up because he was unhappy that she was planning to include him.

"He said "no I will not accept it".

"He was part of my life for ten years; of course he has to be in a book."

But while the pair may not be on speaking terms at the moment, Nancy admitted she was, at one point, in love with the football manager, making the publication of his book all the more difficult.

"He was not forced to stay with me for almost ten years," she said.

"There were beautiful moments, there were absolutely terrible moments. I was definitely in love with him, I do think he was in love with me, and I will stay positive."
