The Derry pop star set up Irish Mist in Orange County, California in 2008, but she hit headlines in January when reports emerged suggesting she had fallen behind with tax payments for her American business venture.
Rumours of rising tax debts have rumbled on for months, and now it has been revealed local authorities have demanded payment of almost $160,000 to prevent the venue being seized and sold at public auction.
Orange County Treasurer Shari Freidenrich told he Sun newspaper: "They need to pay the entire balance including all penalties and interest to avoid a tax sale."
Coyle, who runs the business with her father, Niall, has spoken in a new interview about the difficulties she faced going into business, revealing: "I have never worked harder in my entire life."
