NI's music talent set for Nashville

Four of Northern Ireland's top emerging singer-songwriters are set to travel to Nashville, Tennessee next month to take part in the city's prestigious 10th Panarts Showcase Event.

Triona Carville, Peter McVeigh, Stephen Macartney and Wilfie have been invited to perform at Nashville's famous Bluebird Café.The popular venue is renowned for breaking new talent in the city's thriving music scene.Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival Director, Colin Magee, said: "I've every confidence that Wilfie, Triona, Peter and Stephen will be well received by the famously discerning Nashville audiences."Jane Cassidy, Arts Development Officer, at the Arts Council of Northern Ireland added: "To play at the Bluebird Café in Nashville is an experience that few forget and I wish all the songwriters every success in their trip to perform at the city of music."Before the musicians wow the residents of Nashville, they will also be performing at the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival, which runs for 10 days from 28 February - 9 March.Over 100 songwriters are set to perform throughout the event.Mr Magee said the festival "offers a platform to break new talent from Northern Ireland" as well as showcase them on an international platform.
